Today, I am feeling really happy. For what? I have to move to my past life and find out where this happiness is coming from? While I got admission in class II in one of the reputed school of Meerut (U.P.), I was a small girl around seven years old. Before that I have done my kindergarten classes from a small school of a town, which was famous for its sugar factory, and my school was named as guruji ka school. My father was enthusiastic that we three should study from a convent school that’s why he send us to Meerut. The boys of my class were very tall and in fact I was really afraid while sitting along with them. I was wearing a beautiful school light blue color hair band with three studs embedded in it .One of the tallest boy of my class, Somnath took out those studs and he decorated his eraser with that. I was totally irritated with this act. My friend Tulika was in Section B and I was in Section E, that’s why I was feeling alone as I did not have any friends on that day.

But as I was a brilliant student, I got attention of my classmates and my teachers. I don’t remember but I met Garima Jain there who was my friend on the very first day. My father was a contractor in a sugar factory and was really a person with a heart of gold .People used to respect him and love him, a lot. Whenever we used to celebrate festivals in our colony which was a factory quarter, there were celebrations with full zest and zeal. Everyone used to talk Menon Saab puts all his energy and money to make his children happy even, everyone happy in the colony. I remember once I told him that you are partial with your children. You love my brothers more than me.  he said that all girls in this colony study in a government school and the fees is around Rs two and you are the only girl in this colony who is going to a convent school which cleared my query immediately.

We were three, me and my two younger brothers……my youngest brother always ready to find excuse to miss the school. As we were living 18-20 kms far from Meerut city. We need to leave home by 6.30 am in the morning and comes back by 2.45 pm. So many children of our colony took admission in the same school and the factory has arranged only one bus which used to carry children of different convent schools in the morning .There was only one teacher who used to go along with us in that bus. Kamna aunty, her subject was Hindi, and Tulika was her daughter only. After coming back from school we three had tuitions at around 3.30 pm which was so tiring during summers when we want to enjoy cool air of fans with a little nap. After coming back at around 5.30, we used to have some evening snacks and we three spread out to enjoy with our friends until our mother calls from the first floor where we used to live.at 8, it was homework time, daddy used to be at home around 8 or 8.30 with some gulabjamun in kullhad, or imarati, burfi or sometimes gajar ka halwa in winters .It was a treat for all of us after dinner. At 10 , we were in bed to sleep with one table fan , ceiling fan and cooler to have a sound sleep. Sometimes whenever mom or dad had arguments, it was in midnight so that we can’t hear anything but as I want no disturbance while sleeping I was always awake to hear their arguments and by the time sun throws its light, when we leave dad used to sleep and mom gives us tiffin ready, I used to think whether they will talk or not. My dad loves my mother a lot. He has given her everything which a woman wants after marriage, and told us that after mummy was there in his life he had his good luck with him after that, but I had hardly seen them with any frustration with each other. During my school life, I got many prizes for my handwriting. I got one transistor in G K quiz competition. My parents were really proud of me as they always heaped lots of praises for my academics.
