We have heard about the term IOT, the internet of things and how it is going to radically transform our daily lives. And from the effect that the advent of internet had on our lives, there is no doubt in the assertion that IOT will also be able to dramatically change our daily lives. From the world where our refrigerator is connected to the internet and directly maintains its inventory of food supplies, milk, water and other eatables based on our personal profiles and usages, it directly orders food from the supermarket and is connected to other ‘likeminded’ devices that it communicates regularly with to something way beyond. But hold on, this piece is not about the Internet of Things. This piece of writing attempts to go beyond the internet and the internet of things and attempts to cross the barriers of time and space to the possibility of inter galactic internet thousands of years from now on. Let us first fathom what inter galactic internet really is.
Imagine a time where inter galactic travel is common and mankind has discovered an unlimited source of energy like thermo nuclear fusion that powers stars such as the sun. With the discovery of unlimited energy and light prevalent everywhere, mankind was able to build spaceships that could get all the energy they required from the light that is readily available and then probe the deepest recesses of our own galaxy, the Milky Way and then one fine day break the barriers of space travel constraints and harbinger into nearby galaxies like the Andromeda. At such a juncture of time, when our entire galaxy has been mapped and scores of earth like planets, smaller and larger than our own mother earth have been discovered and colonized by man, the possibilities that space offers is endless.
One such earth like planet is Meta X where colonies of man have just been established. The population of our mother planet earth has stabilized at four billion, however, the combined population of all the colonies that man has established ever since the exploration of the Milky Way began has resulted into many earth like planets being discovered and colonies being established there and the combined population of all these colonies in addition to the original mother earth has reached up to 30 billion. Thus humanity is expanding its horizons, both physically as well as mentally. It was said that we could just utilize two or three percentage of our brain, but now due to the advancement of the medical sciences and the advancement in artificial intelligence, human memory power has increased manifold and also resistance to diseases has also increased dramatically. This has led to increase in the life span of humans up to thousand years and humans crossing two to three thousand years in their life span is not uncommon in such times.
Coming back to the Planet Meta X, the latest discovery of the earth like planet, where oxygen and water is abundant, the humans are happy a lot. There are a lot of natural resources to utilize, and the value of gold has long since dropped dramatically because gold is as common as sand in the planet Meta X, where whole mountains of gold had been discovered long time back. Gold in its purest form is usable in making the circuits of modern spaceships which require highly advanced avionics for the navigation and the flight of the spaceship. The oxygen supply on the planet being abundant, and the unending source of energy being already discovered, there is scope of no pollution on the planet Meta X. The planet is approximately the size of Jupiter and has ten moons orbiting around it. Obviously, this means that there is lots of land and water and biodiversity around. Dinosaurs have been tamed in the planet Meta X and the night sky, with its ten moons orbiting around the giant earth like planet presenting a pretty sight for the romantic couples who are holding hands on a huge serene beach in the night sky.
However, now comes the most advanced and the most intricate of all the projects that mankind has ever undertaken. It is the forming of the inter galactic internet where for the first time in the Human history, the space crafts of man will go beyond the Milky Way galaxy and go to explore the nearby galaxy of Andromeda. It is for this purpose a sort of communication channel is required so that information from the spaceships patrolling the space can rely information real time to the various earth like planets like the mother Earth, Meta X and other colonies of men. The Arc net has already been erected and strengthened from the attacks of vicious aliens who had been discovered a millennia ago. There are basically two type of aliens, one the friendly type and other who are the enemies of the mankind and of various other forms of life that are inhabiting this vast universe of ours. Centuries before, a pact was signed between mankind and eleven other friendly races of intelligent life inhabiting various planets where men cannot live, but such intelligent races can thrive. This pact resulted in the formation of the Arc net, which is basically an inter planetary defense mechanism to protect the mankind and various other friendly and intelligent life forms from the attacks of the malicious mutants who are ruthless and their hatred for mankind is immense. The mutants want to control the entire Milky Way and its resources and therefore it is evident for them to destroy the mankind before they can realize their dreams. Man, sensing the danger posed from the mutants, crafted an alliance with the other friendly and peaceful intelligent races and erected the interplanetary defense system known as the arc net, which can detect enemy mutant spaceships and beams of laser that are routinely directed by the mutants towards our planets so that they can destroy us.
Now it has been learnt that the mutants have been successful in being the first to explore the Andromeda galaxy before mankind or other friendly intelligent life sources could do that. And hence they have gained a huge advantage in the inter galactic warfare from where they hope to construct more lethal and potent launch pads and beams of energy that can destroy entire solar systems. It is to counter such sinister efforts that the project of inter galactic internet has been launched by the mankind and other friendly forms of intelligent life so that information can be supplied in real time from the explorers, that are the exploratory spaceships that are way too small and very speedy and can reach the far recesses of space in no time by curving the space and time which is on the breakthrough of making time travel quite common amongst the mankind. Mankind is also researching on moving ‘sidewise in time’ where in the same era, parallel universes can be discovered, each having distinct possibilities and space and time of its own, with its own outcomes and fate.
The intergalactic internet is quite important for mankind because not ever before mankind or other friendly life forms have ventured into the dark recesses of inter galactic spaces and the vast and far away recesses of the Andromeda. It is to ensure the safety of the photon data packets, that they may not be intercepted and decoded and then destroyed by the mutants that the setting up of the inter galactic internet has become important.
